Our People

All staff hold relevant childcare qualifications and regularly attend courses to update their knowledge and skills. All staff hold current first aid, food hygiene and child protection certificates and all have been DBS (police) checked. All staff are key workers to a group of children, carrying out observations and maintaining their records of progress.

Lisa Mills
Proprietor / Officer in Charge
Lisa Mills is the Proprietor/ Officer in Charge and has owned Kingfisher Nursery since April 2001. Lisa did her training at Shrewsbury College of Art and Technology – Radbrook Campus, gaining her NNEB and has also achieved the Higher National Certificate in Childcare and Education, which will then lead onto a foundation degree in the future.

Anne Whitaker
Deputy Nursery Nurse
Anne is the deputy and has worked at Kingfisher Nursery since January 2009. Anne also did her training at Shrewsbury College of Arts and Technology -Radbrook Campus, gaining her NNEB. Anne is our SENCO leader and has liased with lots of outside agencies in order to provide the best for our children.

Nina Walters
Nursery Nurse
Nina has worked at Kingfisher Nursery since October 2011. Whilst working here Nina was completing her teaching degree so she has bought lots of new and exciting ideas to the nursery. Nina is also our Language and Literacy co-ordinator implementing Letters and Sounds to the children.

Dawn Micklewright
Nursery Nurse
Dawn has worked at Kingfisher Nursery since April 2005. Dawn has gained her NNEB at Shrewsbury College of Arts and Technology -Radbrook Campus. Dawn is a valued member of the team and has contributed many an idea to children’s learning. Dawn also works at Treetops Kids Club.

Margaret Gough
Nursery Nurse
Margaret first came to Kingfisher Nursery as a one to one SENCO worker in November 2011 and then has stayed on as a valued member of staff with a wealth of experience under her belt having ran her own nursery in the past. Margaret completed her childcare qualification at  Shrewsbury College of Arts and Technology – Radbrook campus.

Leigh Mills
Nursery Nurse
Leigh has worked at Kingfisher Nursery since September 2012, and has established herself as a valued member of the team. She has always had an interest in working with children and is a registered child minder herself with many years of experience of looking after children.

Sue Llewellyn
Nursery Nurse
Sue started working for Kingfisher Nursery in February 2014, we give Sue a big welcome to Kingfisher Nursery. Sue has a breadth of experience so we look forward to working with her. Sue also works at Treetops Kids Club.
